SUNDAYS AT CHRIST CHAPEL
Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy and my delight.
I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God. — Psalm 43:4
SUNDAY MORNINGS @ 10:30 AM
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our Sunday services feature expository preaching from the Bible, scripture reading, prayer, a blended music style, and the sacraments.
When you arrive, an usher will greet you and offer you any assistance you might need. Our service begins promptly at 10:30 AM and runs until about 11:45 AM.
Our choir typically offers several pieces throughout the service for our worshipful reflection. Our congregational singing is a mix of hymns and more modern songs, accompanied by instruments appropriate to the music.
You'll find people dress however they are comfortable — some more formally, some more casually.
GETTING TO CHRIST CHAPEL
Christ Chapel is located at 160 Graham Road in Ithaca, NY — near the Shops at Ithaca Mall, off of North Triphammer Road.
The TCAT Bus System serves Christ Chapel on the weekends using bus route 30. We recommend you get off at the YMCA stop and walk along Graham Road to the church.
We also provide transportation from Cornell. Pickup times: 10:05 AM @ Collegetown (Schwartz), 10:10 AM @ West (Baker), 10:15 AM @ North (RPCC Parking Lot). Filling out this form each week to let us know to expect you is encouraged so that we can make sure to have enough drivers.
For transportation from Ithaca College, email Margot Stern.
NURSERY & CHILDREN'S CHURCH
Our nursery serves children up to age 4. It is located on the lower level of the church, and an usher can guide you.
Children's Church, for children age 4 to grade 4, meets during the sermon for age-appropriate Bible teaching.
AFTER SERVICE FELLOWSHIP TIME
A highlight for many, we gather after the service outside or downstairs for refreshments and conversation. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and make friends and learn about the church.
1. Masks are required at all times in the balcony.
2. Masked and distanced seating is available in the lobby.
3. Beyond that, following CDC guidance, the county health department issued "a Health Advisory encouraging all residents, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask while indoors around others." We simply leave you with the county's statement and will encourage you to make your own thoughtful decisions about masking during all or part of the service. As always, a supply of masks is available at the church for anyone who needs one.
In addition, we are adding fans to more aggressively ventilate the building, and apologize for the ambient noise.
